Translation troubleshooting
Wrong translation? Check whether the words were heard correctly first
Speech recognition, translation and audio playback are separate steps. Check them in order to find where a conversation went wrong.

First, compare the transcript with what you actually said
Voice translation typically involves recognizing speech, converting its meaning into another language and playing the result. Hearing fluent audio does not show that the first two steps were correct.
Start with the recognized source text. If it contains words you did not say, repeated sentences or an unexpected language, check the input language and microphone. Move somewhere quieter and repeat the same short sentence.
Next, check the meaning of the translation
If the source text is correct, check the translation's negatives, quantities, times and who is doing what. 'Do not add sugar' and 'Add sugar' look similar, but ask for opposite actions.
If you do not understand the target language, ask the other person to confirm the concrete outcome, or support the request with pointing, written numbers or text. Translating a result back into your own language is only a reference check, not proof of accuracy.
Then check whether playback matches the displayed translation
If the text is correct but you cannot hear it, check playback volume, Bluetooth output and the app's playback state separately. If the sound and text disagree, record the selected language pair, complete sentence and device state so the issue can be investigated.
Before sharing an example, remove names, contact details, booking information and other unnecessary private content. A short, reproducible example is more useful than a long recording containing personal information.
Make your feedback reproducible
Include the phone model, operating system and app version, source and target languages, whether headphones were connected, and one sentence you actually said. State what you expected and what happened; you do not need to guess which model caused it.
These details help distinguish recognition, translation, text display and audio issues. Heyo's support contact is in the website footer. Share only the information needed to investigate your report.
